Under the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train scheme of Indian Railways, a special concession of around 33% is being offered to promote rail tourism. As part of this initiative, Tour Times—approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India—has announced a 12 Jyotirlinga Sampoorna Yatra special spiritual train in association with South Star Rail. Starting on 13 June 2026, this 18-day journey will cover all 12 Jyotirlinga temples including Somnath, Mallikarjuna, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Kashi Vishwanath, Trimbakeshwar, Vaidyanath, Nageshwar, Rameswaram, and Grishneshwar. Passengers can board from major cities like Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Bengaluru. Boarding and alighting points are subject to railway approval, with alternate transport arrangements provided where required. Key highlights include darshan at Kedarnath, Kashi Vishwanath, Kashi Vishalakshi, Annapoorni Temple, Ujjain Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Somnath, Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, Grishneshwar, Vaidyanath, Mallikarjuna, and Rameswaram Ramanathaswamy Temple. The itinerary also includes a sacred bath in the 22 theerthams at Rameswaram and Pradosham day darshan.
