The annual admissions test for various Air Force department responsibilities is called the Air Force Common Admission Test, or AFCAT. The range of employment opportunities for AFCAT hopefuls includes both technical and non-technical flying occupations as well as ground duty positions. According to AFCAT eligibility, thousands of students apply each year, but due to the rigorous requirements, only a very small number are permitted to take the test and move on to the next phase. The Indian Air Force has established several educational standards, marital status requirements, and physical and aesthetic standards. Candidates must be aware that there are different lists for each gender. The first requirement is that applicants be between the ages of 20 and 24.
