Freight forwarder Panalpina has reported profit 4 percent year-on-year decrease in gross profit in the first half of 2019. According to the company, the decrease in gross profit was chiefly the result of lower margins in air freight and lower volumes from the automotive sector, which shifted into reverse gear.

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. has announced that president and chief executive officer William J (Bill) Flynn will become chairman of the board effective January 1, 2020. Flynn will retire from his post after a successful 13-year tenure. Flynn's successor as president and CEO will be John W Dietrich, current executive vice president and chief operating officer.
